The Uniform Data System (UDS) in-person training is a full day program covering the preparation of the 2019 UDS Report. The training addresses each of the report’s tables, including a discussion of the changes that have been made and the definitions necessary to complete the Report. The UDS training is aimed at those who are responsible for gathering and reporting the data elements included in the UDS Report, as well as management and clinical staff who need to understand the definitions.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION

The most comprehensive UDS training is the in-person training. It is a full-day program designed for people of all levels of prior UDS experience and covers all aspects of the 2019 UDS Report. The training addresses each of the report’s tables and provides an implementation-based explanation of how to successfully complete the UDS Report and how to avoid and resolve potential reporting issues. In addition to receiving UDS reporting instructions, attendees will understand the value of the UDS for health center operations and to the health center program and receive tips to help facilitate a successful submission.

Effective reporting of a complete and accurate UDS report is predicated upon an understanding of the inter-relatedness of the data elements and tables. Thus, the face-to-face training is a great way for new staff to improve their understanding of their role in the UDS reporting effort. As the in-person training is designed as an all-levels program, all financial, clinical, and administrative staff are welcome to attend in order to hone their reporting skills and share their experience with their peers.

 

 

SPEAKER

 

Alec McKinney
Alec McKinney, MBA, is a Senior Project Director/Consultant and has contributed to a variety of research and consultation projects. He has provided consultation to local, county, state, and federal agencies as well as foundations, community coalitions, hospitals, and other community-based providers. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, program development and evaluation, community health assessment, quality and performance improvement, and service coordination/integration. He has worked extensively on projects related to service delivery and payment reform, including projects focusing on chronic disease management, integration of behavioral and oral health with other medical and social services, reduction of inappropriate hospital utilization (inpatient and emergency department), and broad healthy communities initiatives. Mr. McKinney has been a UDS Editor and UDS Trainer for more than 10 years, a UDS Trainer for 7, and has worked with dozens of community health centers on assessment, planning, and technical assistance projects over more than 20 years.

Approximately one week prior to the training you will receive an email with all of the electronic materials for the upcoming UDS Training. Printed materials will be provided on site at the training venue.

Credits

We will be offering up to 6.5 CPE credit hours for this training. Certificates will be available onsite after the completion of the training.
