Too many people put off effective colorectal screenings

"Health advice comes with a few bricks and the occasional air ball. It’s not uncommon for a new study to contradict research published a year or two earlier.

That’s why in the world of public health, you might be hard-pressed to find a slam dunk on par with colorectal cancer screening.

Officials say it’s clear that an increase in colonoscopies deserves much of the credit for a decline in the U.S. rate of colorectal cancer deaths: 14.7 per 100,000 people in 2012, down from 23.6 per 100,000 in 1992..."
