"Unintentional drug overdose is the leading cause of injury-related death in Ohio – surpassing motor vehicle accidents. In 2014, the most recent data available, 2,531 Ohioans died from an unintentional drug overdose – including 255 in Cuyahoga County.

Ohio has one of the nation's most aggressive and comprehensive approaches to fighting opiate addiction and drug overdoses. In 2011, Gov. John Kasich formed the Governor's Cabinet Opiate Action Team to combat this epidemic..."
