CMS Emergency Preparedness (EP) rule was created to increase patient safety during emergencies, establish more coordinated response to natural and man-made disasters, and establish consistent emergency preparedness requirements across 17 difference Medicare and Medicaid provider and supplier types (FQHCs being one of those).
